The last two weeks have been bird-full and therefore exhausting. It has still been possible to experience 17 to 20 warbler species in a single morning, as well as Scarlet Tanagers, Orioles, Thrushes, etc.
We had our first Philadelphia Vireo on Tuesday, a bird that’s seen more in our parks in the fall. On Saturday I was pleased to hear a Common Nighthawk in the North End. We don’t have that many Empidonax Flycatchers yet except for Least, but we had recent encounters with Acadian and Yellow-bellied this week.
I have two more full weeks of walks and lots more to see. In June I’ll visit many of these birds on the breeding grounds and I hope you will, too. See you in the Park!
